Law 47: Budget Committee
a. The Treasurer, Financial Secretary, and the Trustees of the Lodge shall constitute a Budget Committee. The Treasurer shall serve as Chairman of the Budget Committee. b. The fiscal year shall be July 1 through June 30. c. If any Budget Committee member is unavailable to perform any function of the Budget Committee, the Recording Secretary shall serve as a replacement. d. It shall be the duty of the Budge Committee to establish a budget for the Lodge each fiscal year. The Budget Committee will present a proposed budget to the Board of Directors at the May meeting. The budget will then be presented to the membership at the May meeting. The budget shall be posted on the Lodge bulletin boards and elsewhere at least seventy-two (72) hours prior to the scheduled date and starting time of the meeting. Any recommendations for changes, alterations, or amendments to the budget shall be submitted to the Financial Secretary, in writing, within fourteen (14) days after the May meeting. e. Should there be any recommendations for changes or alterations, the Budget Committee shall consider them before the June meeting. f. The Budget Committee will submit a final budget at the June meeting of the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors will then make a recommendation to the membership at the June General Membership Meeting. The budget will then be accepted with consent of a majority of the voting members at the June meeting. g. Should the budget not receive a majority of votes, the budget will then be sent back to the Budget Committee for further review. The Budget Committee will then make a presentation to a Special Meeting of the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors will then, by 2/3 of the voting members of the board, approve the budget. h. The Budget Committee will review all requests for charitable donations. All requests must be received in writing, to the Financial Secretary. After the Budget Committee reviews the application, a recommendation shall be made to the Board of Directors. After the review by the Board, the recommendation will be brought to the membership for approval.
